    AD 1000 A Norse seaman whose name was Leif Ericsson found America before Christopher Columbus. But there already lived Indians there when he came.

    1492 Christopher Columbus came to America and landed in the Bahamas.

    1773 A group of colonial people disguised as Mohawk Indians attacked three ships and threw 300 crates of tea overboard.

    1775- 1783 The American Revolution was a war between Great Britan and 13 British colonies. It was in the eastern coast of North America. 19 April 1775 begin with a battle between the British Army and Colonial Army. The British Army surrenderde to general George Washington at Yorktown on 19 October 1781. On 3 September 1783 Britan acknowledged American´s independence in the treaty of Paris which officially brought the war to a close.

    1777 On June 14th the continental congress approued the first official flag of the United States of America and adopts the Articles of confederation.

    1789 George Washington was a popular president in the USA. The people voted him for president 4 February. The US congress met in the Federal Hall in New york city for the first time.

    2001 The 11 September two plans flew in to the twin towers of the World Trade Center. It was the biggest and the worst terrorist attack in the USA.

    President Barack Obama is the first black president and he was elected in November 2008. The American people had high expectations when he was elected. When Obama took over for Mr Bush, he was facing the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. He was worried about the economy situation. Mr Obama was born in Hawaii in 1964. His mother was a white American and his fatter was a black Kenyan. Barack has gone to the Hawaii Academy and he has gone to Columbia University in New york and even Harvard Law school where he graduated in 1991. When he graduated from Harvard he studied the law. He was doing community work in Chicago. In Chicago he was active in the Democratic Party. He was voted into the Senate in 1996 and in 2004 he came into the Senate. He has a wife and Her name is Michelle Robinsson. He has two daughters who are called Natasha and Malia- Ann. Malia- Ann is born in 1998 4 July. His second daughter Natasha who was born in 2001 10 June. Obama and Michelle meet each other for the first time 1989. They got engaged in 1991.

    When you are a tourist in the USA you can go to:

    Las Vegas, Nevada
    In Nevada have many big buildings such as one huge glass pyramid. And they have buildings from New York. You don't have to party and gamble to go to Las Vegas. You can look at the fantastic buildings and the cool lights on the building and all the cool people with their costumes. Nevada has a great natural scenery.


    Orlando, Florida
    Orlando is a wonderful place for a family with kids. There they have Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, Wet and Wild. These are only some of the attractions in Orlando. Florida has wonderful beach and you can play golf and tennis all year-round.


    New York
    New York the city who never sleeps. It's the biggest metropolitan in the USA. They have the Statue of Liberty, Empire State building, United Nations Building, museums, Broadway Theaters, restaurants, Time Square, nightlife and shopping. You can do almost anything in New York.


    Hawaii
    Hawaii is a tropical island. You can go swimming, Surfing, Tanning, Fishing, Golfing and go on tropical explorations. If you go there you will have plenty of sunshine.


    Los Angeles, Corlifonia
    Los Angeles is on the west coast. They have different communities like Hollywood, where all the movie makers lives and Beverly Hills, where all the movie stars live. The have a good climate. They have many white sand beaches. And from LA it takes a half-day to drive to Las Vegas.

    Chloe Anthony Wofford known as Toni Morrison was the first black woman to receive the Nobel prize.She was born on February 18 1931 in Lorain Ohio in the USA. She was the secod child of four kids. her father George Wofford was a shipyard welder and her mother was a church-going woman who sang in the church choir. her father had three jobs for 17 years so he could take care of his family.
    Chloe attended a school with both white and black kids. In her first class she was the only black student and the only on that could read.She had many friends in her school.When she started to date her schoolmates started to victimize her. In 1949 she graduated from Lorain high school and attended Howrad University in Washington D.C.
    she majored in english with a minor in classics and she changed her name to Toni because people could not pronounce her real name. After graduating from Howard she was offerd a job at Texas southern University in Houston. But she went back to Howard where she met and fell in love with a
    Jamaican achitect, Harold Morrison. In 1958 they got married and got their first child Harold Ford i 1961.

    Thanksgiving
    The national holiday in the United states, thanksgiving day is the day when
    the immigrants celebrat the memorial of the harvest reaped by the playmouth colony in 1621. This happend after a great starvation( there were no food) and privation(hardship).

    The first national thanksgiving day was proclaimed by George Washington after the American revolution on 26 November 1789.

    The episcopal church began celebrating thanksgiving day on the first Thursday in November. Some of the states in America celebratade thanksgiving day but they had no special day to celebrat untile the president Abraham Lincoln proclaimed the date of thanksgiving day.

    The appoiting date of the thanksgiving day happend in 1863 and it was changed to the next-to-last Thursday in November

    If you are going to the USA, and want to see a little bit of Japan or China you can go to Chinatown or Japantown.
    Japan actually gave America a gift. It was a Peace Pagoda It's like a tower. It is placed in Japantown.
    You can also visit Disneyland. Disneyland is an amusement park in Anaheim, California. The park is owned and operated by The Walt Disney Company. It is based on Walt Disney's creations and is one of the world's most famous amusement parks and even one of the most visited. It is estimated that over 500 million people visited the park since they opened for the first time on 17 July, 1955.
    Fisherman's Wharf is San Francisco's main tourist district. It's all a bit more expensive than in Downtown. The most famous pier is Pier 39. From Pier 39 you can go by ferry to Alcatraz prison island. A major attraction at Pier 39 is that you can se many sea lions that often lie and sunbathe.
    Metropolitan Opera House, also known as the Met, is one of the most famous opera houses in the world. The theater is located at Lincoln Square in New York.
    The Met as an institution was founded in Apri, 1880 and the theater the Met opened in October 22, 1883 with a performance of Gounod's opera Faust and the Swedish singer Christina Nilsson is one of the roles.
    As you know the USA is very known for baseball, and if you are in New York you must visit the Yankee Stadium Arena.
    You should also visit the Walk Of Fame in Hollywood, It's a street with the names of famous people.
    There are many more things to do in America but I just mentioned a few.

  9. MUHAMMED ALI
    Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr was born in January 17, 1942. He is a former American boxer and three time World Heavyweight Champion.
    He is one of the greatest heavyweight boxer of all time, As an amateur he won a gold medal in the light heavyweight divison at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome.
    After turning professional he became the first boxer to win the lineal heavyweight championship three times.
    Originally known as Cassius Clay, but he changed his name to Muhammed Ali after joining the Nation of Islam in 1964. He converted to Sunni Islam in 1975.
    In 1967 he refused to join the U.S military, based on his religious beliefs and opposition to the Vietnam War.
    He was arrested and found guilty on draft evasion charges, stripped of his boxing title and his boxing license was suspended.
    He was not in prison but did not fight again for nearly four years while his appeal worked its way up to the U.S Supreme Court, where it was successfull.
    His Nickname was The Greatest. He was involved in several historic boxing titles,
    He lost only five times, no draws, in his carrer, with 56 wins (37 knockouts and 19 decisions).
    Ali was well known for his fighting style, which he described as ”float like a butterfly and sting like a bee” and employing techniques such as the rope-a-dope.
    He was also known for his pre-match hype, where he would ”trash talk” opponents on television and in person some times before the match, often with rhymes.
    In later life Ali developed Parkinson's disease.
    In 1999, Ali was crowned ”Sportsman of the century” by Sports Illustrated and ”Sports personality of the century” by the BBC.
    Here are some of his so called ”trash talks” or like I call them, speeches.

    America is very famous for music. They have many singers, there are a lot of different music genres, I don't know them all but some of them are Pop, RnB, Reggae, Hiphop, Classic, Jazz, Rap, Conutrey, Mainstream and many many more.
    A very well known singer and actor is Elvis Presley. He's from America. He was a rocksinger and a lot of people admired him because of his lyrics and his way to sing his songs. He had a wonderful voice.
    Elvis was born in January 8, 1935 in Tupelo in Mississippi, and he died in August 16, 1977 in Memphis Tennessee.
    He is one of the most prominent entertainers in 1900s and was often called The King.
    He sold over one bilion records worldwide.
    When the world's largest music magazine Rolling Stone would rank the top 100 singers of all time, he came in third place.
    Dion and the Belmonts were an American doo-wop group from Bronx, New York. The singer was Dion Di Mucci.
    The group was founded in 1957 under the name Dion and the Timberlanes but changed to Dion and The Belmonts in 1958, Some of their hits were I Wonder Why, A Teenager In Love and Where or when. In1960, Dion left the group to a scuccessful solo carrier.
    There are many more great singers but I won't tell you about all of them,
    There are many who believe that the music industry is owned by the illuminati.
    Illuminati is a secret society, who wants to conquer the world, at least that is what many people say I don't really know, it might be a conspiracy theory.

    A very well known rapper is Tupac Amaru Shakur. He was born in June 16, 1971 and died September 13, 1996. He was known by his stage name 2Pac, Pac and Makaveli, he was an American rapper, he sold over 75 million albums worldwide, he became the best selling music artist in the world, In America he sold 37,5 million records, Rolling Stone Magazine named him the 86th greatest artist of all time.
    He was a very good actor, and a social activist, Most of his songs are about growing up with violence and hardships in ghettos, racism, and other problems,
    Some of his hits are, Changes, Dear Mama, Ghetto Gospel, California Love, and many more.
    Like I said he died in September 1996. he was shot in Nevada, Las Vegas.

    Samuel Langhorne Clemens was born in November 30, 1835 in Florida, Missouri and died in April 2, 1910, Samuel is known by his pen name Mark Twain.
    He was an American author and humorist, He is known for his novels. The Adventures of Huckelberry Finn and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, The Adventures of Huckelberry Finn became the Great American Novel.
    He was a friend of presidents, artists, and European royalty.
    Upon his death he was regarded as the greatest American humorist of his age.
    Another author named Willam Faulkner called him ”The father of American literature.
    When he was four, his family moved to Hanibal, Missouri, a port town on the Mississippi River, that inspired the town of St, Petersburg in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and
    the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
    Missouri was a slave state and he became familiar with the institution of slavery, a theme he would later explore in his writing.
    In March 1847, when he was 11 years old, his father died.
    In 1851, he began working as a typesetter and contributer of articles and humorous sketches for the Hanibal Journal, a newspaper owned by his brother Orion.
    When he was 18 he left the Hanibal and worked as a printer in New York.
    When he was 22 he returned to Missouri.
    Later in 1868 he met a girl named Olivia, one year later they got engaged, and married in February 1870 in Elmira, New York.
    They lived in Buffalo, New York from 1869 to 1871, their son Langdon died when he was 19 Months of diphteria.

    The history of the United States traditionally starts with the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Yet its territory was occupied at first by the Native Americans since prehistoric times. The Thirteen Colonies won independence from the British Empire in the American Revolution.
    The young nation continued to struggle with., The U.S. territory grew westward across North America but was opposed on the frontier by Native Americans, Mexicans, and others, They dreaded that the expansion would shift the balance of power from one region to another. Slavery of Africans in the Southern states became a very strong issue between North and South. They needed further expansion. The South was defeated and, the north. ended slavery, Then the Afro Americans gotten more and more rights in America and they worked with loyal governments. They had 48 states by early 1912.
    There have been many presidents in America but the first president of America was George Washington, he was president during 1789 - 1797. He died in 1799.
    The President now is Barack Obama. He is the first Ffro American president. He became president in 2009.
